Syllabic approach for easy transitioning
SRA ¡Imagínalo! has proven, scaffolded support throughout,
facilitating Spanish-speaking students’ transition into any English
reading and language arts program. Students learn to read in
Spanish by using a syllabic approach, then, learn to transfer their
Spanish-reading skills to English. You start by:
- Teaching all vowels and the most common consonants
- Introducing words using syllables
- Presenting letters and words with open syllables
- Introducing words with closed syllables
- Continuing this sequence until all letters of the alphabet are taught
